I believe that with the right guidance and determination, anyone has the ability to develop the skill set they desire. Talent is not something you either have or you don’t. I’ve worked with many students who have proven this idea wrong. Who overcame challenges to become the musicians they wanted to be.
My hope is to enhance the musical experience and understanding of each student. Provide problem solving strategies and techniques so you can be the leader of your musical path. Instill optimism and mitigate inhibition because self doubt can so easily overwhelm us. Establish an environment that welcomes mistakes with plenty of room for growth. You don’t have to be a virtuoso who started playing at age 5 in order to be exceptional.
Whether you want to write music, compose symphonies, or play guitar or piano, creativity and technique is an important focus: a strong technical foundation affirms adaptability to various styles, while harnessing the pathways for creativity allows us to grow through experimentation. However, in order for all of this to be possible, enjoying the process is paramount. Music expresses the unexplainable, and I am so excited to help you learn how to express yourself and bring that experience to other people.
If you’re ready to develop the ability to express yourself through music, contact me below and we will set up a lesson at your home in Chicago or a video call over Skype or Zoom.
